A Cook's Dream Kitchen!
December 13, 2015
On the interior, the spacious layout and 10′ ceiling of the kitchen and family room belies the historic facade. Yet the warm tones of the dark stained reclaimed planks of flooring combined with the natural stone fireplaces reflect the feeling of the historic period. The field stone pizza oven at the kitchen end of the room is mirrored with a paneled fireplace on the opposite end. The design team at Packard developed several work zones so various members of the family could participate in food preparation simultaneously. The 10′ island makes a delightful middle point for the activity of a busy household. There are multiple works spaces flanking the prep sink on the island as well as two cooks zones. The primary cook zone is a the conventional 48″ Wolf Range, and a secondary cook zone is at the wood burning pizza oven. The wood hearth surrounding the range has pull out spice shelves with stainless steel 30″ refrigerator and freezer on each side.
