About Us
My name is John Packard, owner and founder of Packard Cabinetry. As a young man after college, I backpacked through Europe and the Middle East. It was on this journey I developed a passion to be a furniture maker.
Upon my return, my first goal was to find a master craftsman, learn the traditional woodworking skills, and make a life. With my wife Rae, we found the beautiful village of Sea Cliff on the north coast of Long Island, where we would settle and raise a family.
In 1977, we opened our cabinet business in Sea Cliff, New York and have since opened two locations in North Carolina.
I apprenticed for master Ake Tugel to learn centuries-old techniques in working with the finest domestic and exotic woods. Additionally, we restored classic American and European antiques and built furniture, instruments, and learned the art of cabinetmaking.
